For Tangaroa Blue Foundation, we joined in on the celebrations for the 40 Years of Great Barrier Reef Management organised at Jezzines Barracks in Townsville, North Queensland. We also tracked the selfless effort of the Rowes Bay beach clean-up in Townsville coordinated by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Australian Marine Debris Initiative, Tangaroa Blue Foundation, Reef Trust, and Eco-Barge Clean Seas Inc.
Tangaroa Blue Foundation organises numerous clean-up efforts on Australian beaches, but also works intensively on recording the type, abundance and weight of debris collected, in an effort to understand source pollution patterns. Thanks to their database, they can confirm that plastic is the number one threat to marine life out there! And that's just one big piece of the puzzle.
Everyone can join in on the effort! Follow this link to know more > http://www.tangaroablue.org/
